It is marshmallow, caramel, and almonds covered in milk chocolate.  They are handmade by a small candy company in Ferndale, CA (one of my favorite towns).  And yes, they are delicious.

Doing your part to revitalize milk consumption :)

The trends make me sad — I love milk, I drink about a half gallon of whole milk every day (cereal, straight, protein shakes, etc). Short of lactose intolerance, it’s hard for me to believe there are so many people who just don’t like milk. I always considered it a given , not even an acquired taste. But I have heard that herds are finally down enough that prices are coming back up a bit.

Our company lends a lot to CA dairy, especially.

The look on that cow’s face is all I need to know.

I wonder if there’s another version of that bar that is made with non-milk additives, subsidized by the Government, and marketed as Foo Bar?

Those non-beef milks are usu ally ok if they’re in something. A latte with vanilla soy milk? Delightful. A cup of oat milk? No thanks.

I hate milk. It always smells sour to me. I suspect there’s probably a genetic component, like w ith people who think cilantro tastes like soap.

I love the taste of milk , love it on cereal, love milk products (especially ice cream), b ut I also always thought it smelled sour. I usually just held my nose.

Then I spent some time on a submarine in the Navy where we got “UHT”. It’s Ultra High Temperature pasturized milk that will keep for weeks and doesn’t even need to be refrigerated. It smells AWFUL. Imagine that sour milk smell, but also burning . I think, though, that exposure to that stuff destroyed whatever sensory bits made me think milk smelled bad. Now I love it and the smell  doesn’t bother me.

I’ve never really consumed a lot of milk , and certain ly not by itself. I’ll use it for making cream sauces or certain egg dishes, but thinking of drinking milk in the morning makes me sick, and it certainly doesn’t sound like very refreshing thing to drink during our warm months.

Just came back from a trip to Ireland, where milk is a way of life , they don’t like our milk, either.

Yeah, a lot of people say the pasteurization makes it taste funky, but if that’s 99% of the milk you drink, I guess it becomes the norm. I’ve heard long-term vegans say that non-vegan people often smell like curdled milk.

I love the cooling aspects of milk — if I’ve just mowed the lawn or worked out, really cold milk is the best thing for my palate. But if it’s room temp or war med up, I will literally gag.

This coincides with me finally offloading the Alps trip photos of good cows from my phone, and thus, I approove of the Moooooo.

(So many good cows, just out to chew grass and stuff. So many.)

Pretty sure almost all Irish m ilk is pasteurized as well. More of what’s being fed to American cows vs Irish ones.
